They’ve been with us for over a month, but we haven’t taken the time to introduce them to you. Better late than never, meet Georgina Wardell and John Day.

Georgina Wardell

Account Manager – The Technology Studio

Georgina Wardell joins The Technology Studio and brings to the team 6 years’ pharmaceutical and marketing experience. With her high level of knowledge and experience we are excited to see all she has to offer to The Technology Studio team.

What were you doing before you joined The Technology Studio team?

Prior to this position I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 6 years in various marketing roles within oncology and more recently was involved in the launch of indications for the treatment of Metastatic Melanoma and Basal Cell Carcinoma at Roche Products Ltd.

What attracted you to your new role?

Opportunity: the opportunity to develop my skills, to gain new experiences that will hopefully encourage me to think outside of the box and force me to think more creatively, more intelligently and to help me grow both professionally and personally. I also wanted to work for/be part of a company I have heard so many great things about.

Now you’ve had a few weeks to settle in is it what you expected?

With the support of my wonderful new colleagues and a few deep breaths every now and again I’ve made it through my first month. I’m now a little less new and a bit more knowledgeable. I have lots to look forward to and I couldn’t be more excited!

What are you looking forward to in your new role?

I can already see that this is going to be an interesting and varied role. The work I’m doing and the people I’m working with are truly some of the best in the industry. I’m meeting lots of old and new faces, everyone has been really welcoming and I’m looking forward to getting to know the team some more and meeting some more of our clients.

John Day

UX Designer – Earthware

John Day is our latest recruit and we are very happy to have him on the team.

What were you doing before you joined the Earthware team?

Prior to joining the Earthware team, I worked at the Institution of Engineering and Technology as a User Experience Architect. In this role, as part of a larger digital team, I provided user experience resource such as usability testing and user interface design to projects.

My general background has always been in IT, from my earlier days in technical support to my more recent web experience, I’ve been working in IT for nearly 20 years. My motivator is helping people and I’ve always done that throughout my previous roles.

How do you find working at the Earthware?

Having worked for a charity for a number of years, I wanted to work in a commercial environment in the hope that it would be both more varied and more focused. So far the new role measures up and I’m very much enjoying it. I can’t believe that I’ve been here almost two weeks already – the time has literally flown by.

My role at Earthware promises to be purely customer experience focused across a wide variety of products and I find that really exciting!

For me, a workplace is all about the people and at Earthware it looks like I’ve joined a great team. Everyone’s really friendly, professional and really seem to know their stuff!

What would you like to achieve in your role?

As I mentioned, I’m all about helping people and I want to do this by helping the team produce products which are easy for people to use and help them to do their jobs easily and efficiently. If I can do that, repeatedly, I’ll be achieving over and over again.

What does your role involve?

I very much see my role as a customer experience focus. I’ll be helping the team to evolve its user experience offering through practicing and reviewing techniques such as layout design, usability testing, content management and search engine optimisation. Taking a holistic view across the company’s customer journeys from end to end, I’ll be looking to ensure a seamless and pain-free journey across multiple touch points, always ensuring that the customers (or the customers’ customers) remain the primary focus in everything we do.

We're thrilled to have them both on board, please join us in welcoming Georgina and John to the team.
