Microsoft Bing Maps and Earthware

Whilst Earthware is mapping API agnostic and we would always recommend a mapping technology based on the client and project, it would be fair to say that we have more Microsoft Bing Maps implementations than any other interactive mapping API.

Earthware has developed two interactive mapping products using Microsoft Bing Maps: one for commercial property mapping where our clients include NovaLoca, SEGRO and the other for residential property mapping, where our clients include Residential Land, London Executive and Dreamspot.

Earthware has also delivered bespoke mapping implementations using Bing Maps for clients in financial services, internet technologies, commercial and residential property, travel and tourism and property development. We have delivered value from consultancy, design, development and hosting. Our bespoke mapping implementations include Financial Times, LonRes, 3DVIA and Voyana.

Brian Norman, co-founder of Earthware is a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for his contributions to the Bing Maps community and is also a co-founder of the Bing Maps User Group in the UK. Earthware is a Microsoft Certified Partner and were pleased to partner with Microsoft to develop the Bing Maps World Tour that showcases their monthly aerial and bird’s eye imagery updates.

About Microsoft Bing Maps

Microsoft Bing Maps (formerly known as Microsoft Virtual Earth) brings location data to life by making it easier to visualise, understand, and analyse. It offers a set of APIs to use to build innovative web based mapping applications including Bing Maps Silverlight and Bing Maps AJAX. A key differentiator in Microsoft Bing Maps is its Bird’s Eye imagery (this is the main reason why we used Bing Maps to build our EarthwareProperty product).

Bing Maps aids customers in:

  • Feature rich custom web mapping implementations
  • Visualisation of location based datasets
  • Tracking of mobile assets
