Know your DAS rheumatoid arthritis app
earthware were engaged by two global pharmaceutical companies on behalf of the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society to develop a solution that would empower rheumatoid arthritis patients to more effectively monitor their own disease activity.
Why?
To empower patients to monitor their own disease activity to provide a more accurate picture of their disease to their healthcare professional.
Our solution
RA treatment is based on the activity of the disease, measured using the Disease Activity Score (DAS). RA symptoms can vary over time and their severity on any given day may not be representative of severity over a more prolonged period. earthware designed and built an iOS and Android application that uses video to coach patients through their own DAS assessment and allows them to track their symptoms and medication use as well as setup reminders. Patients can export their data in an Excel file and share this with their healthcare professionals to provide a full picture of disease activity between appointments.
earthware worked hard to develop the app from our patient’s perspective, running workshops to establish what was needed and testing out different approaches. We’re very proud of the app we created together and the feedback from our patients has been very positive!
